we've just started messing with these at work. i wrote a script that takes the incoming scan from a product and routes to the appropriate section of the website. it's slick.

The cool thing about QR codes is that they have built-in error correction so you can modify portions of it and still have it be readable.

I put one on my CV and have it set to bring up my cell number so job recruiters can call me. Gotta be "cutting edge" these days..

I made a personal landing page with short url and qr code just for fun:

Me: http://fyid.me/1
Me Again: http://fyid.me/2
Page: http://fyid.me

Well I didn't really make if for fun. A friend of mine in realty and my sister both asked at the same time for something like this so I pointed them at unhub.com and flavors.me but both wanted something simpler, and with a QR code that would lead back to all their internet pages.

So I set to work hacking up phpbb3 code and I made this.

Still alpha testing it. It's ugly, but it works.

I think they're pretty slick for duping people into clicking directly into malicious hosted scripts, but that's the side of the coin I have to see every day. I do like the novelty of it though. Matter of fact, I think I'll whip one up for my site. Maybe 2. One will take you to my site, and the other will take you to meatspin. I'll place both on my business cards and tell people that when they deal with me, "it's like rolling the dice". 8)

So which will it be?

One of these takes you to my site... The other? Mooooohahahah!
