ropey i need ya or any other car audio peep

Postby BLASK on Wed Apr 07, 2004 9:04 pm

i wanna get an amp for my internal speakers:

im only gonna give rms figures cuz i dont give a shit about peak:

receiver gives out 23 x 4
dash speakers are 2-25
door speakers are 6-65
rear speakers are 2-50

so im thinking of leaving the dash speakers powered by the receiver since they take 25 max and it puts out 23

then to power the doors and rear i wanted to get a 50x4 and i found the MTX Thunder 404 http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?i=236T404

also let me understand one thing, if the constant rms max is 50 does that mean giving it more than 50 constant would blow it, say a 75x4 ?

thanx in advance

(current mobile setup:)

(2) Kicker 12" L5 Solo-Barics 4ohm

As long as it clean power, it will be fine. I've driven 150 Watts RMS to 6.5 midbasses rated for 100. They gave out after about 5 months, but man did they sound good before they friend. The Thunder 404 is a GREAT amp. Of course, if you can get a good deal on a larger amp, just turn down the gains a bit to match them.
