Let's just throw it all out there...

The word socialist is getting thrown around a lot in these hard political and economic times. I'm curious. Is anyone here actually FOR socialism in America? It is after all a legitimate party platform. And a valid line of reasoning. Socialism in a utopia would work and I myself would be for it, if I had even an ounce of faith in the majority of human beings.

well i don't think we are getting anywhere near socialism. i don't even think obama is a far left polatician. maybe
he turns out to be but for now he hasn't forced anything t hat shows it. sure there are a lot of things in the air
tha tmight turn out that way but as of now it's just ideas. i'm sure in the end we'll get something that's kind of like
what was originally thought of but in reality it does nothing.

it doesn't matter what it's called. bottom line is that the US is being surpased by Europe. Hopefully it's just temporary
but what is the plan if their evil socialism ends up being a better plan than whatever they come up with here?

my only gripe with pure capitalism is that eventually the government will be run by 2 or 3 massive coorporations
and that just doesn't sound like a good way to live.

Well you didn't really answer my question. The question is: Do you support socialism? Or, if you would like to be a little more subtle about it. Would you support a president who openly claimed to be a socialist?

depends what we are talking about. true socialism, i don't think so since it hasn't worked out so great in most places.
if it's european socialism or socialism light maybe. it's all about what works.

my thing is that it has to be fluid. it can't just be unchaning. if there is something that isn't workig it should be changed
or there should be some experimenting to see what can work better. we don't have to sink the ship just because
we're too stubborn to accept that there might be an idea that's better.

i am now going to be able to vote and i won't be picking a party. the fact that i have to choose from two is kind of annoying.
even if i sided with republicans on the econmy, i think they are wrong on just about every social issue or at least
the people that they have to answer to are and that's the bitch.

whichever way i choose i'm losing on something.

if you let me chop your foot off i'll give you a million dollars
if i don't do anything to you you get no money... hah
