i guess this is related.

i wonder sometimes. democracy is great when things are good. we all get a chance to say our piece. is it going to be
great if the shit hits the fan? or is it just going to slow us down? it's like when you are deciding where to eat for
lunch with 6 people, most of us would talk for a while on what we are going to eat and it'll be 10-30 minutes before
someone decides, if 1 person just says this is where we are going and thats that then it might take like a minute
or two. i wonder this because of what this guy mentions and i've heard that goes on in china, they gotta keep the
people from all going nuts and now they are starting to get pissed because of pollution, the government doesn't have
to deal with having to convince people that this course is good so they just say ok in 5 years we need a quarter of the
power from wind, do it. here it would be like 20 years of going back and forth and lobbying and endless debate before
they even started moving on it.
